MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE BY WORKING FOR THE PONTESBURY PROJECT
Meet Our Board of Trustees
Our board of trustees promote the vision and values of the Pontesbury Project by providing oversight, supervision, and counsel. Rather than focusing on daily operational decisions, the board handles strategic and long-term matters that ensure sustainability and the best possible outcomes for the people we support. The well-being of staff and service users is our top priority.
General Practitioner (retired) with special interest in mental health for 35 years. Former member of the Board of Directors of Springfield Christian Fellowship, Telford. I have lived in Shropshire for 40 years. It is a privilege to be able to contribute to The Project and to support the Team of dedicated Carers.
When I moved to Pontesbury eight years ago, I was quickly introduced to the wonderful work of the Project and was very happy to get involved. I've been in Shropshire for 40 years, during which I've lived in a variety of settings and worked with children with specific learning difficulties.
We moved to Shropshire from Gloucestershire 20 years ago and I was soon involved with the Project. I have been proud and happy to be part of this amazing venture. My background is in nursing and midwifery and the medical side of the pharmaceutical industry. I am also an ordained Church of England priest and work as a chaplain at the local hospice.
Meet Our STAFF
Our staff team handle the day-to-day operations of the Pontesbury Project. They address any concerns and ensure care remains at a consistently high quality.
Having worked for the Project for 25 years, I am proud to have been part of the journey. My inspiration has been seeing our people succeed in living in their own homes whilst overcoming many challenges. Helping them to achieve this has been very rewarding.
I joined the Pontesbury Project in 2008. Over the years, I have gained many lasting memories of the people we support - their personal achievements, outgoing personalities, and sense of humour.
I joined the Pontesbury Project in 2014 and became a PRICE instructor in 2018. It’s been a privilege to aid in the development of our people and to promote a strong value base. The Project always puts the needs of the people we’re supporting above everything else.
I joined the Pontesbury Project in 2012, having spent the previous 25 years working for a food manufacturing company. The Project is recognised within the local area and the care sector as a provider of a quality service, and I am proud to be a part of it.
I joined the Pontesbury Project over 5 years ago and instantly knew I had made the right decision. Each day is different and can be challenging, but seeing the people we support live happy, calm, fulfilling lives and getting to experience their fantastic sense of humour is the ultimate reward.
I have worked at the Project for 21 years now. It has been a privilege to support these wonderful individuals to grow, develop, and gain the knowledge and tools they need to be independent. Every one of the people we support is a unique individual and every day is different - it can be challenging, fun, frustrating and satisfying, but never boring and ultimately always rewarding!
After leaving the Royal Air Force in May 2004 after 27 1/2 years, I could have retired early but felt I had more to give, providing it did not involve wearing a uniform. After a short period of time job hopping, the Pontesbury Project came into a conversation. There my Project life began, I enjoy my time here, particularly watching the various people who I have supported, develop skills, or settle into a more calming lifestyle.
I am the current team leader at Hill Farm Cottage. I have worked in care for 15 years and love it. Working for the Pontesbury Project is highly rewarding - we support some truly wonderful people and get to work in a beautiful hillside location. The person my team and I support is a fantastic individual who has been with the Pontesbury Project for 7 years. His transformation over that time has been a credit to himself and his dedicated support team.
I started working at the Pontesbury Project just over 4 years ago and immediately felt at home. The warm, friendly, person-centred approach is just one of the things that make it such a lovely place to work. My team and I support two amazing gentlemen with enjoying a wide range of activities both in the village and further afield, as well as relaxing and enjoying the calm at home.
I joined The Pontesbury Project in 2004, after working in various different care environments. It quickly became apparent that the Project is different in the way service-users and staff are treated, with each person valued for being themselves. Becoming a Team Leader gave me the opportunity to be a part of a team that enabled the individuals we support to develop their life skills and fulfil their dreams.
Having lived in Pontesbury all my life, I have always been aware of the work of The Pontesbury Project, and in 2004 I was given the opportunity to work part-time in an administration role. My experience in working in Banking and finance led me to a supporting role within the finance department.
I am a chartered accountant by profession and have worked for the Pontesbury Project for 24 years. I’m proud to manage the finances of the Project and ensure that our wonderful teams have all the resources they need to support our people, enabling them to live the best lives possible.
